That said… as a reference for myself and because I am notoriously "difficult to shop for", here are a few things that have caught my attention.

Gunpla
I have a sizable backlog and I'm mostly set on building tools. There are several different Gunpla Grades and there are Gundam Series that I do and do not like. I'm definitely gravitating towards Master Grade and Real Grade kits of late.
General Release
These kits are usually pretty easy to get ahold of.

These kits have been announced for the anime and video game coming in 2027.

My favorite stores are Gundam Pros, Gundam Planet, and Colonial Photo and Hobby.
Limited Release
These kits are sold exclusively through the Premium Bandai website or the Gundam Base. They aren't worth paying scalper pricing so it is simply a matter of waiting for them to be rereleased.

Gaming
Gundam Card Game
There are quite a few Legendaries and Rares from the current Freedom Ascension [GD05] set that I would like -- especially Kira Yamato and the Strike Freedom. There are only a few cards I'm chasing from older sets.
I have not decided if I want the themed starter sets coming in September.
The next booster set, Stardust Trails [GD06], will be released October 30. I hope to collect the cards from Stardust Memories, but I'm less interested in those from Double Zeta.
Gundam Assemble
The Gundam Assemble game launches in the fall. I've preordered the first Starter Set and the Deluxe SEED Set. Next spring they will be adding expansions for SEED Freedom and Char's Counterattack and a Deluxe starter for G Gundam.
Starcraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game
I do not need another game, but I loved StarCraft and now they have a tabletop miniatures game! It might be nice to try painting some of the figures just for fun and nostalgia, but not likely to play.
Ex Impulse
I like the look of the standard Impulse, but this one is on another level of cool. It was last available in 2024. Since it is seldom available, my plan is to customize my High Grade version of the Force Impulse to resemble this kit.
Gundam Helix
This Gundam is due to appear in the Gundam Rouge video game. The bulk and detail are nice.
A special edition in the more traditional, primary color scheme will be exclusive to the Collectors Edition of the game. I don't know if I will be playing the game and I can always paint the general release version.
Hobby Hi-Zack
The colors on this are fun and overall it is more interesting than the usual Zaku. It was available in 2026.
Stormbringer
This is one of the best versions of a Gundam with loads of armor and weapons. It has a cool story behind it, too. It was last available in 2023. The F.A. and P.F. versions (with their extra parts and price) have been available more recently.
Gundam Zero
This is the lead Gundam from the upcoming XARX-ZERO anime. It seems to dial back some of the crazier designs in the last few series.
